Idyllwild Community Garden becomes part of the Idyllwild Garden Club!

I am pleased to announce that as of January 18, 2023, the Idyllwild Community Garden and Education Center has become a project under the Idyllwild Garden Club. This new partnership will certainly expand on our current collaborations which already include compost bin sales, alpaca gold nugget sales, educational classes, speaking engagements and partnering with Idyllwild School of the Arts “Art in Society” class to introduce students to the many facets of our community.

I want to thank Young Idyllwild Inc. and specifically Kathy Wilson, for being our non-profit sponsor for these past five + years. Without Kathy’s leadership, vision and encouragement, the Community Garden would never have turned a barren lot into the thriving bountiful garden that it is today. We wish Young Idyllwild the best as they continue their efforts to improve the lives of our community members, both young and old.

So now the Idyllwild Garden Club and the Idyllwild Community Garden are one. No more questions about who does what where and who is who. We look forward to increasing the community’s awareness of the joys (and challenges!) of gardening in this beautiful unique environment.

There are still logistical tasks to complete, especially on the social media front and website  integration, but the end result will be a more informative, active and visible organization that will continue to grow garden awareness, and education opportunities for all of Idyllwild.

So stay tuned. Continue to follow us on social media and visit our websites idyllwildgarden.org and idyllwildgardenclub.com. for classes, field trips, speakers, meetings, special events and gardening tips galore.

Time to get growing!
